Sherry Levin brings a wealth of experience to the Worcester Academy varsity girls basketball program. In her return in 2017 the squad has captured back-to-back NEPSAC Class AA Championships in 2018 & 2019 and was a finalist in 2020. Their four-year cumulative record is 84-11; Levin's career record is 382-82 winning 82% of games coached. The program's most heralded player, Aliyah Boston was named a 3x Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year, and McDonald's All-American. At South Carolina, she was the 2021 National CoSIDA Academic All-American Player of the Year among other National honors. Players have matriculated to play at South Carolina, UNH, Brown, University of Lowell, Assumption, Manhattan, Brandeis, Manhattanville, and Pace.
As head coach at WA from 2001-2008, the teams won two New England Championships, one in Class B and one in Class A, including a 24-0 season in 2006 with a cumulative record of 137 and 30. Many players went on to have collegiate careers at schools like William & Mary, Manhattan College, College of Charleston, Bentley University, Amherst, and WPI.
Most recently Levin had the honor of having her alma mater Holy Cross name the Sherry Levin’s Women’s Basketball Lounge. She has been inducted into three Hall of Fames: In the first year of eligibility at Holy Cross College, Newton North High School, and the New England Basketball Hall of Fame. As a player at Holy Cross College, Sherry was honored as a Kodak District I All-American, two-time first-team Division I CoSIDA Academic All-American, four-time Jewish All-American, and MAAC Conference Scholar-Athlete. Sherry still holds the HC all-time scoring record for women with 2,253 points. Levin played for Holy Cross legend, Togo Palazzi. Internationally, Sherry has been the Head Coach for USA Maccabiah Basketball in International Competition bringing home 4 Gold Medals. She plans to coach the Open Women's team at the 20th World Maccabiah Games in July 2022
