In 2011, Jamie Sullivan became head coach of the Worcester Academy Boys Varsity Basketball Team after serving as assistant coach since 2000.  He has been an integral part of the school’s success in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC).
 
Mr. Sullivan first joined Worcester Academy in 1998 as head coach of the Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. He held that position for two seasons. In that time, the JV Team’s win total increased from two wins in his first year to nine in his second.  Jamie also teaches Health and Wellness to the sophomore class at Worcester Academy.
 
Before arriving at Worcester Academy, Mr. Sullivan helped run the youth basketball program at the Friendly House in Worcester from 1994-2004, and served as the head coach of the Holy Name Boys Freshman Basketball team from 1996-1997.
 
He also founded and ran the Worcester Frontcourt Fire AAU Basketball program, which he operated from 2004-2009 out of Daniels Gymnasium at Worcester Academy. The teams, which competed in Select Basketball tournaments nationally, were composed primarily of neighborhood children ranging in age from 10 to 18.
 
Mr. Sullivan graduated from Holy Name Senior High in 1993 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Curry College in 2006. Jamie's son, Sean, graduated from Worcester Academy in 2010.
