To help the students in their social development, we organize dances, field trips, a Field Day and other group activities. One example is the start-of-the-year trip to Harrington Outdoor Education Center for Grade 6, which stresses cooperation and trust. This year's seventh graders are traveling to Rhode Island for a three-day visit to Nature's Classroom. Another example is the three-day trip that eighth graders take to Washington D.C. to celebrate their completion of the Middle School.

On campus students have certain monitored freedoms. In addition to traveling between buildings for courses, students attend special school-wide assemblies in the gym and in the Hervey Ross '46 Auditorium,Warner Theater, and have access to Kellner Student Center, a favorite after-school haven for promising pool sharks and ping-pong champs.

Worcester Academy also offers a wide range of extracurricular activities to pique our students' interests. Many students elect to participate in athletics or the arts -- or both -- as well as clubs and community service activities.
